How Did It Start?

I hail from India, and my crafting journey began with my grandfather. In his spare time, he would engage in creative work like making cots, crafting shovel handles, and repairing broken walls. Despite being a government teacher professionally, he was passionate about creating things. He ignited the spark of creativity in me, and I started crafting as well. Tools like hand saws, chisels, and wood planers always remind me of him 😞.

I remember the time when I purchased a second-hand drill machine and started a project with my grandfather. We were equally amazed by the extraordinary power of that tool. It was a revelation that allowed us to create numerous things effortlessly.

My First Power Tool!

Additionally, my father is an electronics engineer, so I had the opportunity to play and experiment with tools like soldering irons, voltage stabilizers, and multimeters. I also inherited my mother’s creativity during my childhood, often knitting carpets and baskets alongside her.

As I grew older, my creativity continued to flourish. I graduated in physics, chemistry, and math, followed by a diploma in Computer Hardware Technology, Chip Component Level, and networking.

While working as an IT/Network Support Engineer, I realized I wasn’t satisfied because I didn’t have time for the creative pursuits I once enjoyed. That’s when I made the decision to quit my job and pursue my own path.

Six years ago, I started my blogging journey before launching NootanCrafts. Blogging allowed me to explore myself, learn new things, and gain financial independence. With the means to purchase tools, I delved deeper into my DIY journey. The flame of creativity, which was nearly extinguished by the busy life, was reignited.

I have crafted several things during this time. Unfortunately, they weren’t filmed adequately because I wasn’t considering starting a YouTube channel then.

Here are some examples of the things that I have created. Also, photos of me working, sorry for the lousy image quality.

My brother is showing a demo of an automatic light system in the cupboard. However, the project wasn’t fully completed at that time.

Remember, these are my old projects, which I didn’t film adequately. These were some of the best snaps and videos I found on my computer. However, I will surely repeat them in the future with improved design, which you’ll find on this blog.

There’s an indescribable sense of pride when you see everything around you made by your own hands. I want you to experience that same feeling.

Unleash your DIY potential with NootanCrafts. Let’s create together!
