How to use this wood filler calculator

Measure the length, width, and depth of the gap or crack you’re filling, and set the quantity if you’ve got several similar gaps to fill at once — nail holes, a run of the same crack, that kind of thing. The overfill figure accounts for the fact most fillers shrink slightly as they cure.

Formula

Volume = Length × Width × Depth × Qty
Fluid Ounces = Volume × 0.554

This is a rough estimate, not a precise fill — most wood filler containers list volume, not a coverage rate, so buying slightly more than the calculated minimum is the safer default rather than opening a second tub mid-project.
