Hi, I’m Nootan, a self-taught DIY creator with a tech background.
I’m not a professional craftsman or engineer — just someone who loves figuring things out.
I make videos and tutorials on how to fix stuff, use tools, and build things from scratch — from repairing a broken LED bulb to crafting a full-sized metal railing.
I learned everything online, one mistake at a time, and now I’m passing it on so you can do it too.

Who is Nootan Kumar? How Nootancrafts Was Born?
I hail from India, and my crafting journey began with my father and my late grandfather. My father ran an electronics, radio, and TV repair business in Jalesar, a city of Uttar Pradesh, and my grandfather was a government school teacher in a nearby village. My grandfather was very passionate about creating things whenever he got some time. Such as making cots, crafting shovel handles, and repairing broken walls. So, in my childhood, I got exposed to various tools, like a soldering iron, chisels, a hand planer, and a wooden saw.
“Some old tools like hand saws, chisels, and wood planers always remind me of him 😞.”
I remember the time when I purchased a second-hand drill machine. My grandfather and I were making a bamboo ladder with it. We were amazed by the sheer power of that tool, how effortless it was to drill into wood.

As I grew older, my creativity continued to flourish. I continue making several projects, from a small LED lamp made from an old mobile battery to a wooden toolbox.
I graduated in physics, chemistry, and math, followed by a diploma in Computer Hardware Technology, Chip Component Level, and networking.

When working as an IT/Network Support Engineer, I realized I wasn’t satisfied because I didn’t have time for the creative pursuits I once enjoyed. I honestly loved troubleshooting computers and networking, and still do, but something was missing. I got stuck in the busy urban life and started to lose my identity. That’s when I decided to quit my job and pursue my own path, and I got back to my hometown in late 2017.

I want to tell you, I am a seasoned blogger. I started my blogging journey long before launching NootanCrafts when I moved back to my hometown. With blogging, I was able to explore myself, started reading, learned a lot of new things, and gained financial independence. Now, I was able to purchase tools (not a used drill!), and I delved deeper into my DIY journey again. The flame of creativity, which was nearly extinguished by the busy life, was reignited. That’s when I realised! Why don’t I share whatever I do online? That’s when NootanCrafts was born.
I have made several home improvement and furniture projects so far. Unfortunately, they weren’t filmed well because I hadn’t considered starting a DIY YouTube channel at the time. I was enjoying making them; that’s the beauty of doing what you love. Moreover, I was dead focused on my blogging career.
Here are a few examples of things I created earlier; these are the only photos I managed to find. But I will surely make even better projects in the future to share with you.

There’s an indescribable sense of pride when you see everything around you made by your own hands. I want you to experience that same feeling.
